Arakan Army Attacks a Police Outpost and Apprehends 8 Police Officers in Myanmar’s Rakhine State

A column of Arakan Army attacks a police outpost in Rathedaung township, Rakhine State, on today earlier morning and arrests 8 police officers including two women. 

“About 60 fighters of AA attacks Thazin Myaing police station at 2 AM this morning,” said Kung Kung*, a resident of Zardi Pyin. 

Thazin Myaing police station is located close to the road and near Zardi Pyin village in Rathedaung township. 

“The fight lasts about one and half hours. After that, AA arrests 8 police officers and two women and take along with them,” he said. 

Casualty is not yet reported. 

Arakan News Agency is trying to contact Myanmar Army’s spokesperson and Arakan Army for verification for the arrest of police officers. None of the spokespersons has yet replied until this news is released.
