Myanmar Military Arrests a Wounded Patient at The Military Checkpoint in Sittway, Myanmar’s Rakhine State

Local people report Myanmar military arrests a wounded patient near Sittway, capital city of Rakhine State today. 

U Win Naing Soe, 47, who was injured during the remote mines explosions yesterday near Ponnaygun town, is arrested at the military checkpoint when he is taken to the hospital in Sittway for further treatment.

“He is arrested at Kyauktan military checkpoint today when he is taken to Sittway hospital,” Maung Maung*, a local resident, told our news agency. 

He said the patient is arrested by the military first. After his relative who is a major in the military calls the base in Sittway, he is placed in the military hospital.

Two remote mines exploded near the bridge and close to the town yesterday morning and killed 
U Min Oo, 38, from nearby village Nar Daung Kya, was killed while riding the motorbike on the back seat, and injured the driver U Win Naing Soe on in his left arm.

Some resident reported several military personals were also killed and injured by the explosions. 

Family and friends worry he will be interrogated and tortured in the military custody. 

Minister of security and border affair Col. Min Thaik has ordered all security forces and civil administrators to check all paperwork for those patients who are transporting to another township for further treatments.
