“We have read on US Embassy Face Page, he is coming to Myanmar. We wish to meet him and discuss about a number of important issues, raging from Myanmar Army use of deathly rockets, MRLS, and fighter jets in civil war to IDPs increasing. The war has produced many civilian casualties and over 35,000 IDPs,” Daw Wai Wai Tun said.

She suggests he should address the needs of humanitarian assistances and to allow UN agencies and INGOs to help the IDPs.

Daw Wai Wai Tun is Secretary of Rakhine Woman Network that is helping IDPs in Rakhine State.

Myanmar Army has been conducting heavy military offensive operations\nin Rakhine State since last December. It uses fighter jets, helicopter gunships, and Multiple Rocket Launcher Systems, very deadly weapons while fighting with Arakan Army.

The government army base in Buthidaung fired a numbers of MRLS on last Saturday, April 27. Local people are very worry about it

Military Spokesperson Major General Win Zaw Tun admitted and told the local news outlet, Myanmar Now, the army used it.

Since the military operation, 51 civilians are killed, 75 injured, and 166 arrested

“Our data shows 51 civilians are killed including woman and children so far,” Nyi Nyi Lwin, Executive Director of Arakan Information Center that does civilian casualty documentation," said

He said, “It is really deplorable situation. I encourage David Hale to address these civilian casualties and use of MRLS issues with the Myanmar government and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on his valuable and important trips to Myanmar.”

Arakan Army is negotiating pace with the government and having meeting in Muse today.  No specific agreement is made but agrees for further

Analysts and observers predict that military operations in Rakhine State will not be reduced soon. More military offensive operations will result more civilian casualties and increase of IDPs.

Myanmar Army does not allow UN aid agencies and INGOs to help the IDPs who face shortages of foods, medicines, and shelters. Stormy and heavy raining weather is coming ahead, but no practical preparations have yet made.

It is an urgency of humanitarian assistances providing to the IDPS in order to meet sufficient assistances provision and in needs of UN agencies and INGOs involvements.

Rakhine community has high hope on Under Secretary David Hale to address the humanitarian assistance issues with the Myanmar government.
